Sub-bottom Profiling Module
The Gavia Sub-Bottom Profilng Module Is Derived From Field Proven Chirp Iii Technology From Teledyne Benthos, Pioneers in Chirp Technology
The Chirp Sonar uses digitally produced 14kHz-21kHz acoustic transmission and matched-filter processing to achieve both high resolution and good penetration in soft sediments.
Description
The SBP module for the Gavia AUV allows users to quickly integrate sub-bottom profiling into their survey suite sub-bottom profiling into their survey suite. The combination of SBP, Sidescan, swath bathymetry and camera modules on the Gavia AUV provides a true multi-dimensional look at the ocean floor and sub-bottom layers from a cost-effective, man-portable, self-contained survey solution.
