
MRUs - Motion Reference Units
Motion Reference Units are instruments that are used for the determination of attitude and motion for vessels, offshore cranes, ROV's, UAV's and submarines and can be categorised as a inertial measurement unit. Typical use cases are motion and heave compensation and motion monitoring and control, orientation and attitude measurements, wave measurements and compensation and (dynamic) positioning applications. Measurement variables are acceleration and velocity, roll, pitch and heave, sway and surge and angular rates. MRU's have a wide range of applications in the hydrographic sector, the offshore oil and gas industry and marine sector overall.
