Product Preview: Surveyor 240-16 MBES
Low Cost Multibeam Echo Sounder - $4990
Finally, an affordable multibeam echosounder! With its small size and low cost, the Surveyor 240-16 is ideally suited for deployment on the new generation of small Uncrewed Surface Vessels (USVs). Surveyor is fully supported by Cerulean's SonarView software featuring live preview (see screen captures below) as well as post processing and industry standard export formats.
Description
Surveyor 240-16 is a 240 kHz multibeam echo sounder (MBES). It has a transmit beam approximately 4 degrees along track, 80 degrees across track, and a 16 element receive array.
Surveyor 240-16 utilizes angle-of-arrival estimation algorithms to accurately measure the depth and location of specific features well in excess of the accuracy achievable with conventional beam-forming techniques.
Depending on range and acoustic properties of the bottom, Surveyor 240-16 identifies up to 15 acoustic targets across track within a swath width of 80 degrees. Position and depth of these targets is then accurately calculated by range and angle of arrival.
Surveyor 240-16 includes a built-in IMU for roll and pitch compensation. SonarView combines this attitude information from Surveyor with position and heading information from the vehicle to accurately place each depth measurement in its correct geographic location.
