New Transducer Release

New Transducer Release

AT-650S-AUV (200Hz-2000Hz) & ATTR-7.5K (2KHz-20KHz)

The Falmouth Scientific announces the release of 2 new transducers covering bands from 200Hz-2000Hz and 2000Hz-20KHz. The AT-650S-AUV TRIOD Low Frequency (200Hz to +2000Hz) Acoustic Projector. The AT-650S-AUV TRIOD single element projector provides a low frequency broadband sound source for applications including; underwater communications, Sub-bottom Profiling or others in a compact form factor for AUV or other underwater applications. An optional Ultra High Definition Audio Class D Amplifier and Troidal Matching Transformer allows for a line level input powered by 48VDC and as low as 24VDC at a reduced power output. The AT-650x-AUV is also available in Dual (AT-650D-AUV) or Triple (AT-650T-AUV) configurations. Also being released is a new full ocean depth (ATTR-7.5) wide band (2KHz – 20KHz) transducer for ranging, comms and subbottom profilers. Come visit us at Oceanology International 2024 at Booth K10.

Description

AT-650S-AUV Ultra-rugged, High-Power, Low-Frequency

The FSI AT-650S-AUV is a very rugged, high power, underwater projector designed for low frequency wide bandwidth applications. These applications can be marine sub-bottom profilers, echo-sounders, communications and others. The transducer is designed to operate in the 200Hz to +2kHz frequency range. The transducer is suitable for operation in a variety of array configurations to support shallow water sub-bottom profiling and other acoustic applications. This single transducer can support up to 2000V RMS drive levels at a 30% duty cycle, though this will be cavitation limited depending on the depth of operation.

The FSI AT- 650S-AUV transducer is a high efficiency piston loaded flextensional design. The transducers can be arranged in multi-element arrays to support a wide variety of beam patterns and source levels to suit most survey applications.

The Falmouth Scientific AT-650S-AUV Low Frequency TRIOID Projector can also be integrated with an Ultra High-Definition Audio Class D Amplifier with a Toroidal Matching Transformer providing a high-power low frequency broadband sound source with line level inputs. The transducer with amplifier operates at 48VDC at full power to 24VDC at reduced power levels.

HMS-ATTR-7.5K Ultra-rugged, High-Power, Wide Band - Frequency

The HMS-ATTR-7.5K is a very rugged, high power, underwater transducer specifically designed for marine sub-bottom profilers and echo-sounders in the 2kHz to 20kHz frequency range. The transducer is designed for operation in a variety of array configurations to support shallow water surveys to 6000m deep Subbottom, voice and data communications, altitude and ranging applications for submersible, AUV and ROV platforms. Vessel installations will vary based on the operational requirements and vessel configuration so please contact Falmouth Scientific with your specific needs. Single transducers can support a 600W power level at a 30% duty cycle or 200W continuous while when configured as arrays the power levels for the array can be several Kilowatts though this will be cavitation limited depending on the installation.

The HMS-ATTR-7.5K transducer is a tonpilz piston source approximately 1/2 wavelength in diameter at the center of its operating frequency range and is designed with an industry standard mounting hole pattern through a standard diameter flange mount which allows support for both new and existing vehicle configurations. The transducers can be arranged in a multi-element array to support a wide variety of beam patterns and source level to suite most survey applications.
