Autopilots with survey software integration
Precise Vehicle Control Technology for the Manned and Unmanned Market
Dynautics' Spectre range of autopilots enables precise vehicle control technology for crewed and uncrewed vessels. The algorithms have been developed over thousands of miles of navigation and across hundreds of vehicle types, giving precision, flexibility and reliability.
Description
Undertaking surveys on lakes or open water is a challenging and expensive activity, involving vehicle management, safety, data collection and vehicle control. Dynautics' Spectre Survey Package Module (SPM) allows the user to focus on data collection, in the confidence that the vehicle is accurately navigating the automatically generated survey grid.
Dynautics has developed a range of interface protocols that ensure undertaking surveys with EIVA, HydroMagic, Hypack or QPS packages is faster and easier, leading to better data collection results. Integration with a range of survey packages through the Spectre Autopilot plugin means that the survey plan can be designed within the survey application. Survey tracks and vessel control are within one software package.
Integration with Hypack is achieved by outputting NMEA0183 TNT messages from the survey package into a serial port which provides the control signals to control the autopilot.
The Spectre range of Autopilots has interfaces with major survey software packages. The E-boat autopilot module shown above is an example of the range used to control smaller, electrically propelled vessels.
The planning of the survey lines, in this case in the HydroMagic survey package, saves the surveyor time and helps improve survey accuracy.
The HydroSurv REAV-16 USV, pictured above, is typical of a survey vessel that utilises the E-Boat module with survey integration capability.
The results of a survey undertaken by CEE HydroSystems are shown in this high-quality survey result.
