Practical. Innovative. Customer driven. At Vertical Technologies, we specialise in the development, design and production of electric long-range UAVs for mapping, inspection and surveillance. All our UAV models are designed and manufactured in the Netherlands. Pioneering since 2012 Our journey started in 2012 when Sander Smeets – Founder and CTO of Vertical Technologies – was one of the first to combine vertical take-off and landing with long-range airplane capabilities. After extensive research, trial and error, the final prototype was airborne in 2015. The next challenge was to create a fully autonomous and industrial grade Fixed-Wing VTOL UAV to answer the growing customer demand for higher payload weight and longer flight range. After optimisation and extensive testing, we released DeltaQuad in 2017. Being the first electric Fixed-Wing VTOL UAV to cover 100 km with a 1 kg payload in one single flight gave the DeltaQuad a kick-start. We have been selling the DeltaQuad worldwide since then, with estimated flight hours far beyond 10.000 hours. The DeltaQuad can be found worldwide, from the high mountains in Chile to the North Pole and the deserts of the Middle East. The way forward As Vertical Technologies, we are eager to keep our leading position in practical innovation. Our primary focus is always on improving performance, ease of use and scope of a deployment. We are working on several projects to improve flight times and payload capacity, higher wind resistance and integration of new state-of-the-art sensor technology.
