Description
M40P autonomous survey boat is medium size platform designed for hydrographic surveys in coastal areas and oceans. With modular catamaran design and flexible payload for instruments, M40P is expected to deliver high-quality survey performance with multi-beam sonar and different kinds of hydrographic and monitoring instruments in the ocean.
The dimension of the M40P unmanned surface vehicle is 4.5*2.33*1.9m, weighs 1400kg, bears 80kgs payload capability, is made of aluminum and carbon fiber materials suitable for high salinity seawater, and is anti-corrosive. Catamaran hull design greatly enhances sailing stability, enabling a top survey speed of 4kn, and endurance of 100 hours. The USV has excellent cruise ability with autonomous navigation and intelligent obstacle avoidance functions to fit itself in large-scale inshore mapping; its 80KG payload capability allows it to carry Single-beam, multi-beam, forward-looking sonar, RDI ADCP and water quality probe to be a multi-purposed unmanned ship for oceanographic survey in the deep ocean.
A portable base station is necessary to simplify the operation of this vehicle. It can receive various telemetric data of USV; the mapping equipment through a wireless communication system allows an operator to learn the status of mission completion and the attitude of the unmanned vessel. Its compact and lightweight hull allows only one operator to handle all the operations by using the designed base station. The base station plays an important role in mission planning, procedure programming, monitoring the real-time working status, receiving real-time data transmission with 1km data telemetry, 1km video transmission and 10km navigation control as well as monitoring measurement data and mission completion of USV, receiving real-time multi-angel video, data storage and management.
In addition to the main base station, necessary accessories include a handled terminal controller used to operate the unmanned boat manually in a short distance covered within a 1km communication range which is portable and easy to change between auto and manual modes.
Universal Application
The M40P can carry a wide range of equipment to conduct bathymetry, seabed mapping, and geological hazard inspection.
Single-beam echo sounder 丨 Multibeam echo sounder 丨 ADCP 丨 3D LiDAR scanner 丨 Side scan sonar 丨Forward-looking sonar 丨Water quality sonde 丨Sub-bottom profiler
Autonomous Navigation
Piloted by an autonomous navigation algorithm, M40P can carry out round-clock inspection according to the preset route, greatly reducing the workload of safety threats to personnel.
Superior Stability
M40P’s unique hull catamaran design structure design provides exceptional performance even in turbulent waves, significantly reducing swaying and spray foam, and providing a stable and quiet working condition for acoustic equipment.
Quiet and Clean
Powered by a diesel generator, the M40P has a single lifetime of up to 24 hours, while it can operate continuously for weeks by refueling.
The generator can be turned off when surveying to provide a quiet and zero-emission operating environment for the equipment to guarantee data accuracy.
Exceptional Maneuverability
The configuration of twin engines and twin propellers, combined with the catamaran shape, elevates its maneuverability when navigating closely around foundations constructions for zoom-in inspection.
High-precision positioning and advanced navigation control algorithm minize risk of collision.
Fleet Collaboration
Multiple USVs can group up to form a fleet, navigating the same route while conducting varied inspections.
The fleet can be piloted by one workstation to conduct a large scale investigation of different dimensions, significantly reducing labor costs and improving operational efficiency.
