Sonar Bathyswath-2-UW 468kHz
Shallow survey efficiency & quality for commercial, scientific & military needs
The Underwater (UW) version of Bathyswath has the system electronics inside a pressure-tight sub-sea unit bottle. This is useful for mounting on the end of a pole fixed to a survey vessel, or on sub-sea vehicles. Bathyswath provides wide swath widths; this increases survey speeds significantly, especially in shallow water. It has 2 frequencies : 234 or 468 kHz, to be used respectively up to 200 & 80m of water depth.
Description
Bathyswath 2 is the standard version of our bathymetric systems, in use since 2015. It gives excellent performance and reliability in a small, low-power package. It can be used at any frequency from 100 to 500 kHz.
Bathyswath-2-UW system is our underwater and integrated version, it consists of :
- The Subsea Unit (SU) in titanium. It is waterproof to 300 (or 3000m) and includes :
- Sonar electronics for 1 or 2 transducers
- A communication and power board
- An optional INS or MRU (Ekinox A or E)
- An optional Sound Velocity Sensor (miniSVS)
- One or two transducers (234 or 468 kHz)
- An umbilical (20m by default, longer or shorter on demand)
To complete the bathymetric "package", you will also need the following ancillary devices :
- A GNSS receiver
- Double antenna for the heading value and PPS for the GPS time
- RTK (Rover) or satellite correction services (Omnistar, Atlas, etc.) or GSM for centimetric position - A sound velocity profiler for the speed of sound in the water column
The Bathyswath-2 UW 468kHz package is used at the end of a pole or on underwater vehicles. The bottle contains Transducer Electronics Module, power supply, cooling fan & Ethernet switch &
optionally Ekinox INS/IMU & miniSVS sound velocity sensor. The transducers are fixed to each side.
Bathyswath-2 UW is part of the company ITER Systems : the world's most experienced team of developers of interferometric sonars. Its products are direct descendants of the world’s first commercially available interferometric swath sonar system, developed into SWATHplus, which renamed Bathyswath in 2013. Bathyswath 2 is a completely new design, with improved performance and usability.
