Nortek AS is a scientific instrumentation company that develops and manufacturers acoustic Doppler instrumentation. This includes Doppler Velocity Logs (DVL) used for navigation in the subsea, as well as the Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP) and current meters for use in the ocean, rivers, lakes and laboratories. Nortek is composed of a dedicated team of well-trained technicians, engineers, and oceanographers. Our diverse product portfolio spans from navigation to wave measurement systems to single point turbulence sensors to long-range current profilers.
We pride ourselves on being innovative, in both product development and production processes with a strong focus on our clients and their needs. Nortek provides product sales and technical support all over the world with local offices equipped with experienced technical staff. Our customers are scientists, research institutions and consulting engineers, all with demanding applications requiring state-of-the-art instrumentation that is reliable and easy to use.
Our main office is located 15 km south of Oslo, Norway, and this is where we do development, product assembly and quality testing of our products. Every Nortek product, manufactured to order based on your specifications, must pass a strict quality control process before it leaves Nortek. This includes burn-in test of all electronics, tank tests to verify the performance of our acoustics elements, and calibration of sensors for pressure, temperature, tilt and compass. A strong focus on quality in all aspects of business operations ensures that Nortek products comply with the highest safety and approval standards. Nortek sales and production activities are certified to the international quality of ISO 9001.

The 2D Horizontal Profiler is the ideal tool for current measurements from a physical structure in, for example, port entrances.
Nortek's Doppler velocity logs offer precision navigation for all underwater vehicles. The distiguishing characteristic for this DVL is its small size and power
