ULHYSSES
Automated generation of bathymetry charts for harbour workers
Now included as a module in GEOMOD's web application PortAll, ULHYSSES automatically generates and updates bathymetric ENC (bENC) datasets when new surveys are made available. The survey coverage is also automatically updated, newer surveys taking place of underneath previous surveys.
Description
PortAll is a web app dedicated to harbour services, port authorities, harbour master's offices and pilots.
ULHYSSES is now available as a PortAll module dedicated to the hydrographer. It allows the hydrographer to generate and update fully automatically bathymetric ENC (bENC) datasets, just by uploading the last survey(s).
ULHYSSES parameters allow to define a regular or user defined tiling of the bathymetric ENC coverage. They also allow to define the sounding filter, the sounding networks to be included in the bathymetric ENC, the land masks, etc. Several coverages can be defined within the harbour according to the sounding survey density.
ULHYSSES generates and updates several datasets:
- The S57 bathymetric ENC dataset containing the depth contours, depth areas and network soundings
- The survey coverage
- The bathymetry that comes over the dredge areas
The hydrographer can visualise all those datasets within PortAll/ULHYSSES. Once he has validated the result, he can launch the distribution so that all the PortAll users can benefit the updated bathymetry.
