The Ruggedized Stabilization Mount 50 is a two-axis gimbal for marine and land applications. The Mount compensates roll and pitch motions and is specifically designed to stabilize small and light weight sensor systems in off-road and offshore environments to capture high quality data.

Description

SOMAG’s RSM 50 is a weatherproof and robust stabilization device to stabilize sensors in harsh marine and land environments. The Ruggedized Stabilization Mount 50 is a two axis gimbal which compensates roll (≤±20.0°) and pitch (≤±20.0°) motions of boats, ships, Unmanned Surface Vessels and buoys caused by the waves. It also compensates roll and pitch motions of any kind of mobile land vehicle caused by uneven terrain. The real-time stabilization ensures high quality data capturing and pin-sharp images. The gyro stabilizer can lift up p to 40 kg and an operation down to -32°C can be realized. The device is dust-, salt- and splash water resistant (IP 67) and operates independently or with usage of external IMU data. SOMAG AG Jena provides an app, the SOMAG Mount Control App, for each device. With it, the mount can be controlled manually, a status analysis can be carried out and various features, which are additionally available, can be activated. The RSM 50 is compatible with most 360°-, infrared-, hyperspectral- and video cameras as well as laser scanners and antennas. Possible applications are (coastal/harbor) surveillance, offshore survey, anti-collision systems for USV's, gas and oil rigs security or mobile mapping and scanning.
