During 2020, several towns along the Spanish coast have deployed buoys along their coasts. Microplastics have been extracted from all buoys, the results of which have been given to each participant for display and publication in reports.
It also serves as a global awareness tool for the growing problem of marine microplastics, raising awareness of the problem and obtaining valuable data on the extent and distribution of these pollutants.
