How to Manipulate and Generate Meaningful Geospatial Products From Point Cloud Data

LiDAR360 is a comprehensive point cloud post-processing software that includes a variety of toolsets to efficiently visualize, manipulate and generate meaningful geospatial products from point cloud data.

Geospatial Data Services

GVI offers geospatial data processing services through its LiCloud platform. Users can upload their preprocessed images and/or Lidar data to LiCloud then generate a wide variety of deliverables on-demand. LiCloud can also be used to automate the processing of POS/ trajectory data as well as the Lidar and imagery collected with GVI’s LiAir, LiBackpack, and LiEagle hardware systems.

The processing team at GVI will manually produce Lidar and imagery-derived deliverables georeferenced to user-specified coordinate reference systems. Products can also be tailored to meet specific spatial data standards (e.g. ASPRS). Delivered datasets are in customer-defined output file formats or spatial geodatabases that GVI’s processing team can customize the structure of and add attributes to.

LiCloud users can log in to their account to download data processing results, manage their projects, and viewpoint cloud as well as trajectory information. The LiCloud platform also allows customers to keep track of their automated flight plans for data collection and to access the GVI Technical Support Portal. Strict confidentiality agreements and security protocols keep each customer’s data safe and secure while it is processed and stored on LiCloud.

Lidar Processing and Analysis Services

Lidar services offered by GVI include boresight calibration, point cloud classification, terrain product (e.g. DEM, DSM & DTM) generation, and more. GVI data-post-processing experts can handle Lidar captured from airborne, backpack and mobile platforms. GVI’s complete data post-processing solution for the inspection of electrical transmission towers and power lines is especially mature. With the help of GVI, utility companies are able to leverage Lidar and high-resolution imagery to better analyse real-time and simulated working conditions that impact the safety and reliability of critical electrical grid assets.

POS Processing Services

LiCloud provides an easy-to-use and affordable solution for automating the processing of high-accuracy POS (trajectory) data from GNSS/IMU information.

GVI's Industrial Applications

The LiDAR360 Framework Module lays the foundation for the entire GreenValley International (GVI) software suite. With TB-level processing power, the Framework Module contains powerful tools for effectively interacting and manipulating Lidar point cloud data acquired from any laser scanning device. Popular functions found in the Framework Module include Data Management, Automatic Strip Alignment, and Point Cloud Classification. Framework users can also choose to upgrade their LiDAR360 software to include additional application-specific modules such as Powerline Inspection, Forestry, Mining, AEC (Architecture, Engineering & Construction), Topographic Survey, Geological Analysis, Agriculture, Security & Protection.
