Data sent to the surface

acoustic underwater communication by a bidirectional serial link with up to 2 km range under water in order to transmit position data of the AUV, allowing tracking of the vehicle. It also recognizes a stop-signal from the surface stationin order to interrupt an ongoing mission.

Control parameters sent to the AUV

hybrid operation in AUV or ROV mode: real timedata transfer and vehicle control up to 1000 mthrough plug & play fiber optic Ethernet

Emergency recovery procedure

AUV surfaces by own positive buoyancy

Distinguishable features

ATLAS SeaCat is a hybrid UUV which can be operated in unsupervised autonomous mode (AUV) or as a remotely controlled vehicle (ROV) when attaching a fibre optical cable with 1000 m length (option).Due to its modular design (SwapHead) the SeaCat can be equipped with a range of underwater sensors in the payload section (nose cone) such as MBES, SSS, SBP, Imaging Sonar and Camera.
